For the health and safety of all participants, it is important to have accurate information of actual participants and especially during emergency situations.  Only official transfers will be allowed.  A person who runs under someone else’s bib or doesn’t wear a bib will be disqualified and may face suspension from future Bay Races.

Transfer period closed at 11:59pm on March 22, 2026.
We will now only accept transfers at the Help Desk at Packet Pickup.

Transfer from person to person: The original registrant does not have to be present at Packet Pickup.

The transfer recipient must bring the confirmation # and name of the original registrant to make the transfer. Only transfer fee applicable and required to complete transfer. Original registrant and transfer recipient must settle up on their own for the entry fee before coming to the Help Desk.

No transfers or registrations on race day.

If you transfer your entry to someone else, you do not receive any of the race swag. The transfer recipient will receive the race swag.

1. An original* registrant who paid this year for the 2026 entry race can initiate the transfer by logging into your account through Race Roster. (See text box below for registrants who used a promo/deferral code to register.) You will need to log in and click the Transfer link near the top of your page Bay Race profile page. Choose “Transfer to a new participant”
   

After initiating the transfer and inputting new registrant’s email address, the new registrant receives an email with registration link to input new registrant info and make payment (registration and transfer fees ~$20). Once transfer is completed, original registrant will receive a registration refund (does not include processing fees) and will be removed from the race.

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS! They are sending transfer emails that look authentic but always check the email address. Transfer email should come from therunner@raceroster.com not therunner@raceroster.site or any other extension. If in doubt, don’t proceed. No exchange of funds is required between original registrant (if no promo code was used to register) and new registrant. (Only applies to registrants who paid for 2026 race not using a promo code. See below for promo code registrants).

Products and Extras are non-transferable: E.g. Medal Personalization, Deferral Option Package, Race Day Pickup, and additional apparel purchased through the store or during the registration process are all non-transferable.

A credit in the form of a promo code (applicable to 2027 race) will be issued in September 2026 to the original registrant for products or extras (excluding additional apparel) purchased.

Additional apparel purchased will be mailed to the original registrant.

* PROMO CODE REGISTRANTS. If original registrant registered with a deferral/promo code, then please email info@bayrace.com with the name and email of transfer recipient. We will have to initiate the transfer. When a promo/deferral code was used to register, the transfer recipient pays the original recipient for the entry. Any sale of an entry is a private one and we are not involved in the private transaction. We recommend the original registrant transfers first, then the transfer recipient pays the original registrant. If transfer recipient does not honour the sale agreement, we can remove the transfer recipient from the race and transfer recipient would face a 1-year/race suspension from participating in the Bay Race. Note: Transfer fee of ~$20 is payable by the transfer recipient during the online transfer completion process. Refunds are not issued to the original registrant when a promo code is used.

Please note the Around The Bay Road Race is not responsible for private transactions on transfers and will not be involved in transfer disputes.

Changing Race Categories

To transfer to another sub-event (race category):

Transfer period closed at 11:59pm on March 22, 2026.
Transferring to another race category/sub-event: See Help Desk during Packet Pickup hours.

• Log into your Race Roster account and Bay Race profile
• Click on the transfer link near the middle top of your page
  
• Click on Transfer to “A new sub-event”
• Choose the race category you wish to move to and proceed from there
• Please note, if you downgrade to a category of lesser value, there is no credit balance. If you upgrade to a category of greater value, the balance is owing.
• If you used a promo code to register and would like to transfer to another sub-event, please email info@bayrace.com as the system will not recognize the original promo code credit.

No race day transfers or registrations.
