Please be aware of scammers. They are out in full force and we are not able to stop them but we have made recommendations on how to proceed with a transfer.
Please note, the Around the Bay Road Race is NOT involved or responsible for private transactions.
To avoid scammers, we highly recommend this process:
1. Original registrant and Buyer agree on a price
2. Original registrant makes the transfer first through Race Roster dashboard.
3. Transfer recipient pays transfer fee of $20.53 to complete the transfer.
4. Transfer recipient should receive a confirmation email from Race Roster and can check the Confirm Search Tool to see if transfer is complete and officially registered.
5. Then transfer recipient makes payment to the original registrant.
We can always remove a registrant but we are unable to assist if $ was exchanged privately before the transfer. Info on transfers here.
Please do not register for another race category if you intend to purchase a 30K or 15K bib because then you would need to sell your current bib.

We have posted/pinned a message on Facebook for registrants who can no longer participate and want to sell their entry and for those wishing to purchase. We do not have a waiting list and won’t be releasing any additional spots. In previous years, we’ve seen registrants who may be injured or were unable to train wanting to sell their entry. Purchasers of the 2024 Bay Bundle will receive a promo code in late summer when we open online registration for 2024. You will still need to register but the promo code offsets the entry fee.

Complete the 2K, 5K, 10K, 15K, and 30K from March 25 – April 25, 2021. Times for each distance must be submitted by April 25 to be included in the official results for each category. Times from each of these events will also be added together for a combined Hammer Time!
What’s Your Hammer Time?
Hammer Time Prediction Contest presented by HOKA
For Hammer Participants ONLY: Enter your predicted Hammer Time on your profile and if your actual Hammer Time is within two minutes of your prediction, you will be entered into a free HOKA prize draw. Predictions can be entered by clicking on your dashboard link found at the bottom of your confirmation email. Click on the Modify/Review icon and then scroll to find the field to enter your predicted Hammer Time. If registered before Feb 13, enter your prediction in the Occupation Field. Predictions must be submitted by 9:00am on March 25, 2021 to be eligible in the draw.

Transfers
For the health and safety of all participants, it is important to have accurate information of actual participants and especially during emergency situations. Only official transfers during the transfer period will be allowed. A person who runs under someone else’s bib or doesn’t wear a bib will be disqualified and may face suspension from future Bay Races.
Transfer period closed at 11:59pm on March 9, 2025.
If you transfer your entry to someone else, you do not receive any of the race swag. The transfer recipient will receive the race swag.
If you transfer from one race category to another race category, you will receive the race swag of the new race category. E.g. If you transfer from the Hammer Hybrid to the 15K, you will receive a long-sleeved race shirt and a 15K medal. You would not receive the Hammer Jacket or the Hammer medal. If you upgrade, the difference will be owing but if you downgrade, there is no credit.
To transfer to another person:
- Log into your Race Roster account and Bay Race profile
- Click on the transfer link near the middle top of your page
- Click Transfer to Another Person
- Enter the transfer recipient’s email address and proceed from there
- Transfer recipient will receive an email and will need to complete participant info and pay $15+$3.58 processing fees + 1.95 HST to complete the transfer
- Once the transfer is complete, the original registrant is removed from the system and the transfer recipient is now registered
To transfer to another sub-event (race category):
- Log into your Race Roster account and Bay Race profile
- Click on the transfer link near the middle top of your page
- Click on Transfer to Another Sub-Event
- Choose the race category you wish to move to and proceed from there
- Please note, if you downgrade to a category of lesser value, there is no credit. If you upgrade to a category of greater value, the balance is owing.
- If you used a promo code to register and would like to transfer to another sub-event, please email info@bayrace.com as the system will not recognize the original promo code credit.

The Bay Race has set the following limits for 2025:
- 30K Road Race – 4,500 participants
- 15K – 1,250 participants
- 10K – 1,250 participants
- 5K – 1,500 participants
30K Start Corral Considerations
SEEDED CORRAL
Corral Placement is based on predicted finishing time. Corral details coming soon.
The 30K and 5K seeded corrals are based on a qualifying standard as listed below. This seeding is on a first come basis, and is not guaranteed. Participants who register after the corrals are full will be placed in the white corral.
CONFIRM YOUR CORRAL PLACEMENT
Your Corral placement is displayed on your HTG confirmation email. Running Room confirmation emails do not display corral placements but race kits picked up during race weekend will be labelled with corrals.
All race packets become the property of the Bay Race once Registration and Packet Pickup closes.
AGE RESTRICTIONS
- For the In-Person 30k and/or The Hammer Races — You must be at least 15 years of age on March 26, 2023 to participate.
RACE PACKET PICKUP
All participants are required to pick up their bib during the Health and Fitness Expo. The hours of operation are Friday, March 27, 2020 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday, March 28, 2020 from 9:30am to 5:30pm. THERE WILL BE NO RUNNER PACKET PICKUP ON RACE DAY UNLESS YOU HAVE THE ATB+ PACKAGE.
COURSE TIME LIMITS
Participants must be able to complete the 30k Road Race in 4.5 hours from the start of the horn at 9:30am. All participants not reaching the 15km point by 11:45am or the 20km point by 12:30pm will not be allowed to finish the race. The course time limit will be strictly enforced due to traffic control and runner safety. At the discretion of the POLICE, slower participants may be asked to walk along the sidewalks and obey traffic rules. The Finish Line will be taken down at 2:00pm.
Participants must be able to complete the 30K Road Race in 4.5 hours from their wave start time. At the discretion of the police, participants may be asked to walk along the sidewalks and obey traffic rules.
